يتوافق Android Auto مع 3 أنواع رئيسية من تطبيقات النظام المصغّرة لمساعدة المستخدمين في تنفيذ مهام متعددة:
التطبيقات المصغّرة لبرنامج الاتصال للتحكم في المكالمات الهاتفية الجارية
التطبيقات المصغّرة للتنقل لعرض التعليمات المفصّلة في حال عدم عرضها على الخرائط
التطبيقات المصغّرة للوسائط للتحكّم في تشغيل الوسائط الجاري أثناء استخدام تطبيقات أخرى
تعرض التطبيقات المصغّرة رمز التطبيق بالإضافة إلى معلوماته أو ما يصل إلى 3 عناصر تحكم في التطبيقات. يعتمد القرار بشأن التطبيق المصغّر الذي يتم عرضه في شريط التنقّل في أي وقت على التطبيقات المفتوحة وأولوياتها النسبية للسائقين.
تطبيقات الاتصال المصغَّرة
إذا شارك المستخدم في مكالمة هاتفية أثناء ظهور نوع آخر من التطبيقات على الشاشة، ستظهر أداة برنامج الاتصال في شريط التنقّل. باستخدام تطبيق برنامج الاتصال المصغّر، يمكن للمستخدم التحكّم في المكالمة الهاتفية بدون تبديل الشاشات.
هنا، توفر أداة برنامج الاتصال خيارات لكتم صوت المكالمة أو إنهائها بدون الخروج من شاشة الخريطة.
التطبيقات المصغّرة للتنقل
يوفّر تطبيق مصغّر لتسهيل التنقّل معلومات مفيدة مفصَّلة عندما لا تظهر شاشة الخريطة.

تطبيقات مصغّرة للوسائط
توفّر أداة الوسائط ما يصل إلى 3 عناصر تحكّم للتحكّم في المحتوى الذي يتم تشغيله عند عدم ظهور تطبيق الوسائط على الشاشة. وبإمكان مطوّري التطبيقات تحديد عناصر التحكّم الأكثر فائدةً لعرضها في تطبيقاتهم.

YouTube Music
تعرض أداة الوسائط هذه شعار YouTube Music وعناصر التحكّم الخاصة بالتخطّي إلى الخلف أو إيقاف تشغيل الموسيقى مؤقتًا أو الانتقال إلى المقطع الصوتي التالي.
البودكاست
توفر أداة الوسائط هذه لتطبيق البودكاست خيارات للرجوع إلى الماضي أو إيقاف البودكاست مؤقتًا أو التخطّي إلى وقت سابق.
