One popular method you can use to identify your solution is an exercise developed at GV (formerly known as Google Ventures), called The Design Sprint. Usually done as a 5-day exercise, The Design Sprint is a flexible framework for solving problems through designing, prototyping, and testing ideas with users. It allows you and your team to validate ideasbefore going through the energy of building a product. Watch this video to learn more.

This is where your solution’s user interface and user experience comes in. Start thinking about how a user will interact with the solution. Watch this video to learn more about designing an interface.

Collect feedback by showcasing your working solution to students, friends, and family you know over a video meeting or whichever way is safest and best for you.

Using the feedback you received, start iterating your design and technology until it is polished and ready for a final demo.

After judges review all the submissions using the Evaluation Criteria, the top 50 solutions will be announced.

The top 50 teams receive deep mentoring over the course of 1-3 online meetings from Google and Google Developer Experts to improve their solution and resubmit it for the top prize.

Win a 1 year subscription to Pluralsight, swag, and additional customized mentoring from Google and Google Developer Experts.

Top 10 finalists showcase their solutions to Google and developers all around the world on YouTube during the 2021 Solution Challenge Demo Day.
The final 3 winners are selected live and win all the prizes included in the Top 10 category along with a Chromebook and a private team meeting with a Google executive.
