Step 2
Form a team
Choose up to 4 teammates, with at least one student from the university of the Google Developer Student Club, and ideally with a varied set of technical and soft skills. Have a conversation early about causes you share interests in.
Step 4
Identify a Solution
One popular method you can use to identify your solution is an exercise developed at GV (formerly known as Google Ventures), called The Design Sprint. Usually done as a 5-day exercise, The Design Sprint is a flexible framework for solving problems through designing, prototyping, and testing ideas with users. It allows you and your team to validate ideasbefore going through the energy of building a product. Watch this video to learn more.
Learn and build
Start learning and improving your technical skills to refine your solution by attending a Google and/or local DSC community-led workshop, design sprint, or by completing codelabs and learning pathways below.
Step 5
Design the frontend interface
This is where your solution’s user interface and user experience comes in. Start thinking about how a user will interact with the solution. Watch this video to learn more about designing an interface.
Step 6
Design the backend technology
Follow the learning pathways and codelabs on the Resources page to help you design the backend technology. Collect a Google Developer digital badge for every completed learning pathway. Watch this video to learn more designing backend technology.
Stuck? Through the Parthean platform, you will be able to reach out to Google Developers Experts who are ready to help you with any technical questions you might have regarding your solution.
Finalize and submit your solution
Step 7
Test your solution
Collect feedback by showcasing your working solution to students, friends, and family you know over a video meeting or whichever way is safest and best for you.
Step 8
Iterate code
Using the feedback you received, start iterating your design and technology until it is polished and ready for a final demo.
