The Display & Video 360 API is a programmatic interface for the Display & Video 360 platform. It offers a suite of services and methods for retrieving, creating, and updating Display & Video 360 resources, and managing Display & Video 360 user access for your partners and advertisers.
See the user guides and reference documentation for Display & Video 360 API for more information.
How does it work?
Your team can use the Display & Video 360 API by sending HTTP requests. Each individual request executes an action, such as retrieving, creating, or updating one or more resources. The API provides client libraries in a variety of programming languages to help format and execute these requests.
The API uses OAuth 2.0 to authenticate requests. Credentials for authentication are generated under a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) project. You can read more about this in the Display & Video 360 API Getting Started guide.
Live API versions are occasionally updated, and new versions are released roughly once a year. Earlier versions are deprecated and later sunset after new versions are released.
What can it do?
Using Display & Video 360 API, your team can do the following actions programmatically by making one or more subsequent requests:
- Set up new advertisers, campaigns, insertion orders and line items.
- Manage targeting resources such as channels, location lists, or Customer Match audiences.
- Build and assign custom bidding algorithms.
- Upload media assets and build creative resources.
- Retrieve and QA existing resources in bulk and update as needed.
- Create new users and manage their access to Display & Video 360 partners or advertisers.
- Generate and download Structured Data Files.
Who is it built for?
Integrating with the Display & Video 360 API is ideal for teams that manage a significant number of Display & Video 360 resources and want to automate parts of their workflow.
Given the broad feature set, API integration can optimize work at multiple levels of Display & Video 360 interaction, from the creation of line items to the management of Customer Match audiences. Since it doesn't support creating or updating YouTube & Partners resources, teams requiring this feature should consider a combined integration with Display & Video 360 API and Structured Data Files.
Teams will need some engineering resources to build and support an API integration.
What products work with it?
Structured Data Files can be downloaded using the Display & Video 360 API. You can create and update YouTube & Partners resources using Structured Data Files by manually uploading files in the Display & Video 360 interface. A combined integration of these two tools can help your team to manage their entire suite of line items.
Display & Video 360 API BigQuery Connector can be used to retrieve Display & Video 360 resources in Display & Video 360 API format and import them directly into BigQuery. Using the BigQuery connector can automate resource retrieval so that you only use Display & Video 360 API to create, update, or delete resources.
