What is the Google Domains Widget?

How It Works

The Google Domains widget is a lightweight, easy-to-integrate Javascript API that you can use to enable domain purchases on your website. When you call this API from your site, a lightbox will open that will lead customers through the steps to select and purchase a domain from Google Domains. Once a customer finds and buys a domain, Google Domains automatically configures the domain with the set of resource records that you specify. The customer is then taken back to your site, allowing you to select the appropriate next steps. Google Domains provides all of the domain configuration and support for options such as privacy, transfers, and resource record management, which the customer can access at any time.

There are a number of advantages to integrating with Google Domains , including:

  • Ease of implementation—enable domain purchases on your site in a few steps
  • Payment and support operations automatically handled by Google
  • Fast and seamless customer experience, with no need to touch any technical settings
  • Availability to any customer with a Google or Gmail account and a US billing address, with payment done through Google Wallet
  • No additional charges for Whois privacy (select domains) or email forwarding
  • Over 200 domain endings for customers to choose from
