Use Google Drive Brand

This page provides guidelines for use of Google trademarks. Consider these guidelines when naming, describing, and marketing your application.

You do not need pre-approval to use the Drive API or to promote the API functionality on your site using the badges shown below. However, your use of these badges is governed by the Drive API terms of service, and if that use violates branding requirements in the Terms, we may request that you modify or cease usage of the badges.

On your website or marketing materials

The first reference to Google Drive should be 'Google Drive™' with the trademark. Additional references can be 'Google Drive' or 'Drive'.

You may use the provided assets to highlight your application's integration with Google Drive. If reference is made to Google Drive assets in connection with your logo, your logo must be larger than the Google trademark.

On a blog or social media

The first reference to Google Drive should be 'Google Drive'. Additional references can be 'Google Drive' or 'Drive'. The ™ symbol is not required.

In an application market (such as the G Suite Marketplace or Google Play)

The first reference to Google Drive should be 'Google Drive™' with the trademark. Additional references can be 'Google Drive' or 'Drive'.

You should also include the phrase "integrated with Google Drive" in your description.

In addition you should adhere to the following guidelines regarding the use of Google trademarks.

In your application

Your application should always refer to Google Drive in full name, for example, "Save to Google Drive."

You may use the Google Drive icon in your application in several ways:

  • As a button that initiates an action with Google Drive, such as saving to Google Drive
  • To indicate that a file is stored in Google Drive

When using the Google Drive icon in your application, you may use the colored or monochromatic version, though it is strongly encouraged to use the colored version. Do not make any alterations (other than size) to the icons.

If your application takes action with Google Drive, ensure that the action is clear to the user. Examples (button style is for illustration only):

When using the Google Drive icon as a button, provide a tooltip indicating what action the button takes with Google Drive, for example, "Save to Google Drive."

Things not to do

In all cases, do not refer to Google Drive in any shorthand, such as "GDrive."

The Google logo cannot be used as part of a sentence. The correct way to do this is to use text in the headline, and to place the Google logo elsewhere on the page.

For buttons:

  • Do not split the words "Google" and "Drive" across multiple lines
  • Do not use the Google or Google Drive logos on the button
  • Do not abbreviate or shorten Google Drive
  • Do not use the icon as replacement for the words Google Drive

Using the "Works with Google Drive" badge

However, please be sure that your use of the badge is consistent with the terms of service and the branding guidelines on this page, or we may request that you modify or cease your use of the badge.
