- Web Technologies
Philippe De Ryck is a professional speaker and trainer on web security. He has obtained a Ph.D. in web security from the University of Leuven (Belgium). During his Ph.D., he published a book titled “Primer on client-side web security,” and built the university's online "Web Security Fundamentals" course on EdX. After running a commercial web security training program for the university, Philippe has become an independent web security expert.
Philippe is skilled in explaining complex security concepts clearly. His talks and courses help developers understand the impact of vulnerabilities, and implement effective countermeasures. He regularly talks about best practices and common pitfalls at developer conferences.
Philippe mainly spends his time giving security training to developers. His training covers the broad area of web security, both for traditional applications and for Angular applications. During the lectures, he provides the necessary background knowledge and best practices. During hands-on lab sessions, participants get to attack and defend a real application.
Philippe also volunteers as the course curator for the SecAppDev course. Since 2005, this yearly week-long course focuses on a wide variety of security aspects, all targeted towards developers. The course teaches on SDLC practices, cryptography, web security, access & identity management, and much more.
