Google's Air Quality (AQ) API allows developers to raise awareness about air quality and empower people to protect their health in their own apps and websites. To make it even easier to show air quality information in websites, we are providing the Air Quality Meter Element in the Maps JavaScript API. This widget can be used in any context that the developer chooses and some example use cases include:

• Public pools and parks can show current air quality to potential visitors.

• Retailers can highlight the air quality around their store’s neighborhood to show the desirable walkability 

• Real estate websites can show the air quality around a listed property to boost buyers' interest

The Geocoding API now provides hyperlocal data such as building outlines, building entrances and navigation points at no extra cost in the experimental phase. These new features improve user orientation by providing more contextual information to help find your way to complex destinations easier. Some potential use cases include:

• A ridehailing passenger can be shown a map of pick-up points in a large shopping mall (using navigation points) to select one from

• A delivery driver can be navigated to the right building entrance for delivery pick-up in a mall and drop-off in a residential apartment

• A delivery customer can be shown a map that visually highlights the building that they are getting a parcel delivered to.
