Google 프로그래밍 경진대회(Summer of Code)(g.co/gsoc)는 새로운 참여자를 오픈소스 커뮤니티에 유치하기 위한 Google의 멘토링 프로그램입니다. 2025년에 21번째로 다시 개최됩니다. 116개국의 20,000명이 넘는 개발자가 133개국의 19,000명이 넘는 멘토의 지도하에 참여했습니다.
Google Summer of Code는 18세 이상의 학생 또는 오픈소스 신규 참여자가 멘토와 짝을 이루어 오픈소스 커뮤니티를 소개받고 여름 동안 실제 오픈소스 프로젝트를 진행하면서 지도를 받는 특별한 프로그램입니다. 프로젝트는 인공지능, 머신러닝, 클라우드, 운영체제, 그래픽, 의학, 프로그래밍 언어, 로봇공학, 과학, 보안 등 다양한 분야를 다룹니다. GSoC 참여자는 소규모 (~90시간), 중규모 (~175시간), 대규모 (~350시간) 프로젝트를 진행하면서 장학금을 받습니다. 인턴십은 아니지만 실제 소프트웨어 프로젝트에서 기술을 활용할 수 있는 귀중한 경험을 제공하며 멋진 커뮤니티의 일원이 될 수 있습니다.
GSoC는 경쟁이 치열한 프로그램이므로 마지막 순간까지 기다리지 말고 미리 준비하세요. GSoC에 관심 있는 참여자는 이전에 참여한 조직을 조사하고 연초에 관심 있는 조직에 연락해야 합니다.
2025년 멘토 조직은 2025년 2월 27일에 발표됩니다. GSoC 참여를 희망하는 학생은 2025년 3월 24일부터 4월 8일까지 g.co/gsoc에서 신청할 수 있습니다.
