محرك Battlestar Galaxy FTL هو عبارة عن تقنية معقدة ومتطورة
تسمح للسفن بالسفر بسرعة أكبر من سرعة الضوء. يحدث ذلك عن طريق طي الزمان المكاني حول السفينة، مما يسمح لها بالسفر من خلال فقاعة فضاء فرعية. محرك FTL مدعوم من التيليوم، وهو معدن

يتم تنشيط محرك FTL عن طريق سلسلة من العمليات الحسابية المعقدة التي
يتم تنفيذها بواسطة الكمبيوتر في السفينة. تأخذ هذه العمليات الحسابية في الاعتبار الموقع الحالي
للسفينة ووجهتها والظروف المحيطة بالزمن
الفضائي. بمجرد اكتمال العمليات الحسابية، يتم تنشيط محرك FTL
وتقفز السفينة إلى وجهتها.
محرك FTL هو جزء مهم من التكنولوجيا لأسطول Colonial Fleet. وهو يسمح للسفن بالسفر بسرعة بين أنظمة النجوم، وهو أمر ضروري للعمليات العسكرية والمدنية على حد سواء. يعد محرك FTL عاملاً رئيسيًا في
