To ensure the authenticity of your critical alert information, maintain the credibility of our system, and deliver the right data to the public, Google Public Alerts requires that you secure your data. We recommend that you secure your feed as described in the following sections.

HTTPS with Transport Layer Security (TLS)

You must obtain an SSL certificate issued by a Google Chrome-trusted certificate authority. For more information, see these example certificate authorities

We recommend that you use HTTP Over TLS (https://..) over the conventional SSL channel.
