گزینه های رمزگذاری
تنظیمات فشرده سازی را می توان در طول دستور "ذخیره" تنظیم کرد.
کیفیت از 0 کاهش می‌یابد (تصویر کاهش می‌یابد تا در بایت‌های کمتری قرار بگیرد) به 100 بدون تلفات (پیکسل‌ها دقیقاً ثابت می‌مانند). معمولاً اندازه فشرده با کیفیت افزایش می‌یابد، اما برای برخی از تصاویر (به عنوان مثال عکس‌برداری از صفحه، رنگ‌های ساده...)، الگوریتم بدون اتلاف فایل‌های کوچک‌تری تولید می‌کند.
تلاش فشرده سازی سرعت رمزگذاری را کنترل می کند. آهسته تر، کیفیت بصری را افزایش می دهد و/یا اندازه فایل را کاهش می دهد.
ویژگی پیش نمایش تصویر فشرده شده و اندازه نهایی آن را نشان می دهد. اگر تصویر خیلی بلند یا خیلی عریض باشد، یک ناحیه بزرگنمایی متحرک ظاهر می شود. اخطار: برای تصاویر بزرگ و/یا فشرده سازی سنگین، رابط کاربری گرافیکی ممکن است در صورت فعال بودن کند یا پاسخگو نباشد.
برای انیمیشن ها (چند لایه حاوی مدت زمان به نام خود، به عنوان مثال "Frame1 (123 ms)")، یک نوار لغزنده فریم فعلی را انتخاب می کند و پیش نمایش و مدت زمان آن را نشان می دهد.
پارامترهای رایج
برای عکاسی ، کیفیت حدود 70 شروع خوبی است. اگر اندازه مهم‌تر است (مثلاً نمادها، عکس‌های وب پر ترافیک...)، پایین آمدن تا 30 غیر معمول نیست.
برای تصاویر مصنوعی (مانند متن سیاه و سفید، رندرهای سه بعدی کم جلوه...)، کیفیت حداقل 98 ممکن است ظاهر بهتر و کوچک‌تری داشته باشد.
اگر این گزینه ها برای به دست آوردن یک نتیجه رضایت بخش کافی نیستند، ابزارهای خط فرمان تنظیمات بیشتری نسبت به این افزونه فتوشاپ ارائه می دهند.
