This tool helps resolve discovered\nproblems and evaluates the effectiveness of iterative changes while suggesting\nactionable feedback.\n\nPublisher Ads Audits for Lighthouse is built on top of [Lighthouse](//developers.google.com/web/tools/lighthouse/),\nan open source tool integrated into Chrome DevTools that is widely used by\ndevelopers. By default, the reports that Publisher Ads Audits for Lighthouse\nproduce include all categories currently included in Lighthouse along with an\nadditional \"Publisher Ads\" category that appears at the top.\n\nWe are currently in beta and still in the development process. To help us\nimprove, please [submit feedback](//github.com/googleads/publisher-ads-lighthouse-plugin/issues/new/choose) to let us know of any issues or\nsuggestions you have.\n| **Caution:** Publisher Ads Audits for Lighthouse audit results aren't an indication of compliance or non-compliance with any [Google Publisher Policies](//support.google.com/publisherpolicies/answer/10502938).\n\nWeb service\n-----------\n\nPublisher Ads Audits for Lighthouse is a web service that fetches a site\n**remotely** for analysis.\n\nBy default, results are generated for mobile using a headless version of Chrome,\nemulating a Nexus 5X. Results for desktop without emulation can be generated by\nselecting the **Desktop** tab at the top of the results page.\n\nFor more specific information about the environment under which results are\ngenerated, see the **Runtime settings** section at the bottom of each report.\n| **Note:** mobile results do not simulate actual mobile CPU speeds or cellular network conditions by default. See the **Advanced Settings** section below for details on enabling this.\n\n### Usage\n\n- Visit [Publisher Ads Audits for Lighthouse web service](//developers.google.com/publisher-ads-audits/).\n- Enter the **full URL** of the page you want to audit.\n- Configure **Advanced Settings** as appropriate.\n- Click **Generate Report**.\n\n### Advanced settings\n\n#### Additional Lighthouse audits\n\nBy default, only Publisher Ads audits and the Lighthouse performance audit will\nbe included in generated reports. To include the [full suite of Lighthouse\naudits](//developers.google.com/web/tools/lighthouse/), enable the **Run Additional Lighthouse Audits** options\n| **Note:** enabling this option will increase the time needed to generate a report.\n\n#### Cookies\n\nCustom cookies entered in the **Enter Cookies** text box will be included when\nrequesting the specified web page. This can be used to pass state information to\nthe page, for example to allow access to a page that requires authentication.\n\nMultiple cookies may be specified. The expected format is: \n\n cookie1=value1; cookie2=value2;\n\n#### Simulated throttling\n\nBy default, audit scores are based on the result of loading your page on a\ndesktop CPU over an unthrottled wired broadband connection. To evaluate the\nperformance of your site under less favorable conditions, enable the\n**Use Simulated Throttling** option.\n\nWhen enabled, scores are calculated using a simulation of page load, which is\nbased on data observed during an unthrottled page load. The simulation uses\nthe [Lighthouse throttling default](//github.com/GoogleChrome/lighthouse/blob/master/docs/throttling.md), which limits both\nCPU speed and network bandwidth. This approximates the performance of an\nactual mobile device loading your site over a fast 3G connection.\n\n### Bookmarklet\n\nA bookmarklet is available for on-demand scanning of a current page.\n\nDrag the following button to your bookmarks bar:\n\n[Audit My Ads](about:invalid#zGoSafez)\n\nClick this button on any page to generate a report for the current url.\n\nFeedback\n--------\n\nTo provide feedback, please [file an issue on GitHub](//github.com/googleads/publisher-ads-lighthouse-plugin/issues/new/choose)."]]
