Cloud Device description (CDD) הוא קונספט כללי שכולל כמה היבטים במאפיינים ובפונקציונליות של מכשיר בענן. CDD 1.0 (גרסת CDD שנתמכת על ידי GCP 2.0) מארגן את הקונספטים האלה בחמישה פורמטים:

  • CDD מתאר את היכולות והתכונות של המכשיר.
  • בקטע CJT (כרטיס משרה ב-Cloud) מתוארות האפשרויות הזמינות לפקודה שנתמכת במכשיר.
  • CDS הוא המצב הסמנטי של המכשיר.
  • CJS (מצב משימה ב-Cloud) מתאר את המצב הסמנטי של משימות במכשיר.
  • הגדרות מקומיות הן הגדרות ניתנות לעריכה על ידי המשתמשים, שלא משתנות עם השימוש הרגיל במכשיר.

הפורמטים האלה מוגדרים בקטעים הבאים באמצעות שפת Protobuf של Google. הם נשלחים לשרת של Cloud Print וממנו כמחרוזות JSON שטוריות מהפרוטוקולים. כך מוצגות הדוגמאות בדף הזה.

הערה: יש להתעלם ממילת המפתח optional בהגדרות האלה. כל שדה שיש לו (required) בתיאור שלמעלה נדרש וכל שאר השדות הם אופציונליים (או חוזרים).

תיאור המכשיר בענן – הפורמט

CDD הוא פורמט שמתאר את היכולות של מכשיר המחובר לענן, כמו מדפסת המחוברת ל-Google Cloud Print. דוגמאות ליכולות כוללות: הדפסה בצבע, הדפסה דו-צדדית או תמיכה במספר גודלי נייר.

הערה: התיאור של מכשיר Cloud הוצא משימוש ב-Cloud. הוא לא הוצא משימוש לשימוש עם ה-API של chrome.printing בתוספים ב-ChromeOS.
