As many businesses begin to reopen and consumers grow accustomed to operating in the current environment, Reserve with Google's booking experience has been modified to reflect these changes.

COVID-19 Disclaimers (No Action Needed)

  • The COVID-19 disclaimer during checkout has been removed
  • The COVID-19 disclaimer in the confirmation and reminder emails have been updated to:

Make sure you’re able to follow local health authority guidance for COVID-19. Learn More (which links to the user’s local health authority)

  • [Non-Dining] Online services will have no COVID-19 related disclaimers during checkout or any emails

We hope that this will ensure users remain safe as they begin to frequent merchants again while encouraging them to support their local businesses.

All, except Dining

In Google My Business, merchants can set online attributes to represent their openness and availability to their customers. Additionally, partners may send online inventory in their integration. If interested, please reach out to your business development contact to enable online services for Reserve with Google.

Dining Only

In Google My Business, for restaurants and dining establishments, the logic has been updated for the “Reserve a Table” button and place actions deep links. Now, the reservation button will display whenever there is inventory availability, regardless of how the merchant “dine in” attribute in Google My Business is set.

  • Please work with merchants to update the “dine in” attribute to ensure it is reflective of their true availability.
