Note: Effective July 15, 2026, the WeatherNext Gen and WeatherNext Graph datasets on Earth Engine and BigQuery will be deprecated.
Migration Path: All users should transition to the WeatherNext 2 datasets.
- Deterministic Forecasts: For users that prefer working with deterministic forecasts over probabilistic forecasts, we are launching real-time and historical (backfill of 2022-present) datasets of WeatherNext 2 ensemble mean on May 11. These will be available through Earth Engine, BigQuery, and Google Cloud Storage.
- Access Permissions: Users allowlisted for WeatherNext Graph and WeatherNext Gen automatically have access to all available datasets, including WeatherNext 2.
Performance Note: Please be aware that following ECMWF's planned IFS Cycle 50r1 update on May 12, users may experience some accuracy regression for WeatherNext 2 datasets. Our team is evaluating potential future updates (e.g., WN 2.1) to address these characteristics, though no specific timeline is currently committed.
