- Q. If webhook isn’t properly implemented, will I lose leads? A. No - you can still get leads through the CSV download in the "Extensions" tab for 30 days.
- Q. My CRM integration does not provide me with a key, what do I do? A. The key is an element that allows you to verify that the leads you receive are coming from your Google Ads lead form extension, and not from other sources. If your provider only provides a webhook and no secret key, you can place a dummy value such as “123” or “GoogleAds” for instance.
- Q. Why do I see some “dummy_value” leads in my CRM data? A: The “dummy_value” seen in a CRM (when a webhook is used to download leads data automatically) corresponds to the test data sent using the “SEND TEST DATA” button in the Google Ads UI (when setting up the lead form extension).
- Q. Can an advertiser leverage the same webhook URL across Search and YouTube? A: The webhook schema is the same for Youtube / Discovery and Search so advertisers can reuse it across the channel. If the same webhook is used on multiple forms (irrespective of if the forms are in Search or Youtube), then the advertiser will have to map all the fields correctly. For example Form1 - Name, Email, PN Form 2 - Name, Email When mapping the webhook, advertisers need to map all fields used in at least one of their forms.
- Q. What is the max length limit on webhook URL? A: The max length of the webhook URL is 2048 characters.
