Harita kimliği, Google Haritalar'ın tek bir örneğini temsil eden benzersiz bir tanımlayıcıdır. Harita kimlikleri tek bir platformla (JavaScript, Android, iOS veya statik haritalar) sınırlıdır. Bulut tabanlı harita stilleriyle, kullanıcılarınız için özelleştirilmiş bir yol haritası deneyimi oluşturmak üzere harita kimliklerini ve harita stillerini kullanırsınız. Ardından, uygulamalarınızın kodunu güncellemenize gerek kalmadan stili Cloud Console'da gerektiği gibi güncelleyebilirsiniz. JSON stilini kullanarak haritaları manuel olarak özelleştirme
Haritaları manuel olarak özelleştirmek, normal harita türünü stilize etmenize olanak tanır ve harita kimliği gerektirmez. Stilde yapılan tüm güncellemeler için kodun güncellenmesi gerekir. Aynı uygulamada manuel harita stili ve bulut tabanlı harita stilini birleştiremezsiniz.
