To\nhelp Google Workspace users discover and install your app, you can optimize\nyour app and its listing to get featured in the\nMarketplace.\n\nThe following Google Workspace Marketplace features and categories only apply\nto public apps. To get your app featured, make sure that it meets all the\n[public app requirements](/workspace/marketplace/about-app-review) and has a\npublic [store listing page](/workspace/marketplace/create-listing) that's\ncomplete, accurate, and high-quality.\n\nReceive an independent security verification badge\n--------------------------------------------------\n\nThe Marketplace displays a badge for apps that have\npassed an independent security assessment. The badge is displayed from the\nMarketplace homepage and the app's store listing page.\nThe badge also appears to Google Workspace administrators when they install or\nmanage apps from the Google Admin console.\n**Figure 1.** Example app on a store listing page that has the independent security verification badge.\n\nTo receive an independent security verification badge, your app must receive\nTier 3 of the Cloud Application Security Assessment (CASA). After you pass the\nassessment, it can take up to three weeks for the badge to appear on your store\nlisting in the Marketplace. To maintain the security\nbadge, your app must remain compliant with Tier 3 of CASA. To learn more, visit\nthe section [About the Cloud Application Security Assessment](#about-casa).\n\nThe CASA assessment is based on the Google Cloud project for the app listing. To\nreceive an independent security verification badge for app listings in multiple\nCloud projects, you must complete the assessment for each\nCloud project.\n\n### About the Cloud Application Security Assessment\n\nThe [Cloud Application Security Assessment\n(CASA)](https://appdefensealliance.dev/casa) is a set of security requirements\nbuilt upon the industry-recognized standards of the OWASP Application Security\nVerification Standard (ASVS).\n\nAs an app developer or provider, you must submit your app for the CASA\nassessment and cover any associated fees. A third-party authorized lab must\nperform the CASA assessment. During the assessment, each application and its\ninfrastructure is evaluated on a number of integration and security requirement\ncategories. These categories include, but aren't limited to, access control,\narchitecture, threat modeling, data protection, and error handling.\n\nTo be eligible for the CASA assessment, you must do the following:\n\n- Conduct frequent internal infrastructure and app penetration tests.\n\n- Engage with third-party authorized labs to annually audit the internal\n security controls, following the CASA framework for [Tier\n 3](https://appdefensealliance.dev/casa/casa-tiering).\n\n- Since the app is reviewed on an annual basis, you and your customers should\n conduct an internal or external network and web-application vulnerability\n scan before updating the app.\n\nAfter you pass the CASA assessment, you must revalidate annually to maintain\nyour assessment.\n\nTo learn about CASA, review the [assessment\nrequirements](https://appdefensealliance.dev/casa/casa-requirements) and\n[authorized assessors](https://appdefensealliance.dev/casa/casa-assessors).\n\nOptimize your app for categories in the Marketplace\n---------------------------------------------------\n\nTo help users browse and discover apps, the Marketplace\nfeatures and categorizes apps that offer the highest quality experience to\nGoogle Workspace users. As an app developer, you can't pay to get an app\nfeatured in a Marketplace category. Instead, you can\nensure that your app meets the eligibility criteria for a given category, and\nwhen applicable, apply to be considered for the category.\n\n### Recommended for Google Workspace\n\nEach year, Google evaluates and recommends a select number of apps that enhance\nthe Google Workspace\nexperience and help people work in powerful new ways. These apps are featured\nprominently in the [Recommended for\nGoogle Workspace](https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/category/recommended)\ncategory of the Marketplace.\n\nTo be considered for the category, you must apply to the Recommended for\nGoogle Workspace program. To be notified when applications open, [subscribe to\nthe Google Workspace Developer Newsletter](/workspace/newsletters).\n\nRecommended for Google Workspace apps must meet the highest standards of\nintegration and security requirements. If accepted into the program, your app\nmust receive Tier 3 of the [CASA](#about-casa) framework.\n**Figure 2.** The Recommended for Google Workspace section of the Marketplace.\n\n### Editor's choice\n\nEditor's choice is a category of apps curated by Google based on the app's\ncapabilities. Google organizes Editor's choice apps into one or more of the\nfollowing types:\n\n- **Work from everywhere**: Apps for organizations with remote or distributed\n teams. This category includes communication and collaboration apps,\n engagement apps for remote teams, time management, and digital wellbeing\n apps.\n\n- **Business essentials**: Apps that help improve common workflows for\n organizations. This category includes apps for CRM, billing solutions,\n product management, communication, and marketing.\n\n- **Apps to discover**: Apps that are new and innovative.\n\nTo be eligible for the Editor's choice category, your app must meet the\nfollowing requirements:\n\n- Be a\n [Google Workspace add-on](/apps-script/add-ons/concepts/types#google-workspace-add-ons).\n\n- Available to be installed by individuals.\n\n- Be free, free of charge with paid features, or have a free trial.\n\n- Have at least 100,000 app installations. For apps published\n within the last 6 months, must have at least 10,000 installs and a\n rating of 4 or higher.\n\n**Figure 3.** The Editor's choice categories of the Marketplace.\n\n### Works with Google Workspace applications\n\nThese items can be used directly with Google Workspace apps and are determined\nby the app integrations within your app. For example, a Sheets\nadd-on appears under \"Works with\nSheets.\"\n\nFor Google Workspace add-ons, the \"Works with...\" category is determined by the\nGoogle Workspace applications the add-on\nextends. For example, if an add-on extends\nGmail, the app listing appears in the\nMarketplace under \"Works with Gmail\"\nafter publication.\n\nWeb apps aren't included in the \"Works with...\" categories."]]
