Le ortofoto sono un set di dati di foto aeree che coprono l'Estonia.
Un'ortofoto è una foto aerea elaborata da cui vengono rimosse le distorsioni causate
dal rilievo del terreno, dall'inclinazione della fotocamera rispetto al suolo al momento
dell'esposizione e dalla proiezione centrale della fotocamera. Un'ortofoto digitale
ha una determinata dimensione o risoluzione dei pixel che mostra la più piccola
area indivisibile esposta sul terreno (Ground Sampling Distance, GSD).
Le ortofoto hanno una copertura nazionale e corrispondono alla scala di
1:5000-1:10000 (dimensione pixel 20-40 cm). Le ortofoto per le aree densamente popolate
vengono prodotte con dimensioni dei pixel di 10-16 cm.
Il set di dati monocromatico ha una singola banda in scala di grigi con copertura nazionale.
I dati sono utilizzabili senza costi per scopi commerciali e non commerciali per un periodo di tempo non specificato, a condizione che venga attribuita la giusta attribuzione al licenziante (ad es. Estonian Land Board) insieme al titolo e all'età dei dati.
