La carte de couverture terrestre de l'Iran a été générée en traitant des images Sentinel sur la plate-forme Google Earth Engine Cloud. À cette fin, plus de 2 500 images Sentinel-1 et plus de 11 000 images Sentinel-2 ont été traitées pour produire un seul ensemble de données mosaïque pour l'année 2017. Une méthode de classification Random Forest basée sur les objets a ensuite été entraînée par un grand nombre d'échantillons de référence pour 13 classes afin de générer la carte de couverture terrestre à l'échelle de l'Iran.
