Il set di dati NASA NEX-GDDP è composto da scenari climatici ridimensionati
per il globo, derivati dalle esecuzioni del modello di circolazione generale (GCM)
condotte nell'ambito del Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5
(CMIP5, vedi Taylor et al. 2012)
e in due dei quattro scenari di emissioni di gas serra noti come
Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP, vedi Meinshausen et
al. 2011).
Le esecuzioni del modello climatico generale CMIP5 sono state sviluppate a supporto del quinto report di valutazione dell'Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC AR5).
Questo set di dati è stato preparato dal Climate Analytics Group e dal NASA Ames
Research Center utilizzando NASA Earth Exchange e distribuito dal NASA
Center for Climate Simulation (NCCS).
