Proses L2G memetakan butiran petak VNP21 harian ke dalam petak MODIS sinusoidal dan menyimpan semua pengamatan yang tumpang-tindih dengan sel petak untuk malam tertentu. Algoritma VNP21A1 memilah semua pengamatan ini untuk setiap
sel dan memperkirakan nilai LST akhir sebagai rata-rata dari semua pengamatan bebas awan
