Essa coleção de imagens oferece acesso ao monitoramento por satélite de alta resolução dos trópicos com o objetivo principal de reduzir e reverter a perda de florestas tropicais, contribuindo para o combate às mudanças climáticas, a conservação da biodiversidade, o reflorestamento, a restauração e a melhoria das florestas, além de facilitar o desenvolvimento sustentável. Tudo isso deve ser para uso não comercial.

Os mosaicos do NICFI Satellite Data Program (também chamados de mosaicos Planet-NICFI) contêm coletas mensais e semestrais geradas a cada seis meses. O tipo do mosaico é armazenado no campo de metadados da imagem "cadence". Use esse campo com as datas de início e término de cada mosaico para encontrar as imagens desejadas.
