The goal of this guide is to make Google one of the best places for users to start their shopping journeys. Regardless of where those journeys complete, Google wants merchants to connect with users and help to drive sales.

There are two types of listings this integration guide aims to build:
Free Listings

- Free impressions and traffic to retailer's website
- Includes free listings on the Shopping tab and other various Google places.
- Monitor free clicks and impressions through Merchant Center
- Add products, opt-in to free listings and start getting free traffic to your website!
Paid Ads
- Powered by Google Merchant Center, Google Ads, and Performance Max
- Pay per performance
- Includes Shopping ads and other paid formats. Learn more about paid ads and where they appear.
Integration tools of focus
Performance Max
Performance Max is the next generation of Smart Shopping campaigns. Like SSC, Performance Max is goals-based which unlocks maximum performance across all Google's ad Inventory and the following:
Goal-based campaign that focuses on achieving the performance objectives that matter to you with automation and machine learning.
Path-to-purchase aware so the right ad can be served at the right time according to your marketing objective.
Always serve on the best inventory across Google properties to reach customers where they are efficiently and at scale.
Paid ads automatically serve across Google Search (next to search results), the Shopping tab on Google Search, the Google Display network, Google Images, Gmail , Discover, and YouTube.
Merchant Center
Google Merchant Center is a tool merchants use to upload their store and product data to Google and make it available for Free Listings, Paid Ads and other Google services.

Local Feed Partnership
Merchants who have a physical presence can benefit from Local Inventory Ads, Free Local Listings through our Local Feed Partnerships. The local feeds partnership program helps retailers use local inventory ads or free product listings through a point-of-sale (POS) or inventory data provider.
This guide doesn't have information on how to integrate with this; however, plans to incorporate this in the future are underway. Merchants can integrate directly with Local Inventory Ads in Merchant Center.
Youtube Shopping
YouTube Shopping is a feature that allows creators to sell products directly through their videos. Creators can add product links to their videos, and viewers can click the links to purchase the products directly from the creator's website. YouTube Shopping is available in over 70 countries, and it is growing in popularity as increasingly people turn to YouTube to find and purchase products.
There are a number of benefits to using YouTube Shopping. For creators, YouTube Shopping can be a great way to generate additional revenue from their videos. For viewers, YouTube Shopping can be a convenient way to purchase products from creators that they trust.
