Ein Orthofoto ist ein verarbeitetes Luftbild, aus dem Verzerrungen entfernt wurden, die durch das Geländerelief, die Neigung der Kamera relativ zum Boden zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme und die zentrale Projektion der Kamera verursacht wurden. Ein digitales Orthophoto hat eine bestimmte Pixelgröße oder Auflösung, die den kleinsten unteilbaren belichteten Bereich auf dem Boden (Ground Sampling Distance, GSD) angibt.
Orthophotos decken das gesamte Land ab und entsprechen dem Maßstab 1:5.000 bis 1:10.000 (Pixelgröße 20–40 cm). Orthophotos für dicht besiedelte Gebiete werden mit einer Pixelgröße von 10–16 cm erstellt.
Das Dataset „mono_low_flying“ hat ein einzelnes Graustufenband für dicht besiedelte Gebiete.
Die Daten dürfen für kommerzielle und nicht kommerzielle Zwecke für einen nicht angegebenen Zeitraum verwendet werden, sofern der Lizenzgeber (z.B. Estonian Land Board) zusammen mit dem Titel und dem Alter der Daten ordnungsgemäß angegeben wird.
