Dieses Dataset ist Teil des NASA-Programms „Making Earth System Data Records for Use in Research Environments“ (MEaSUREs) und besteht aus Karten mit der durchschnittlichen monatlichen Geschwindigkeit für ausgewählte Gletscherabflussgebiete.
Die Karten werden erstellt, indem sichtbare Merkmale zwischen optischen Bildpaaren verfolgt werden, die vom Thematic Mapper (TM) von Landsat 4 und 5, vom Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus (ETM+) von Landsat 7, vom Operational Land Imager (OLI) von Landsat 8 und vom Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) aufgenommen wurden.
Hinweis
Monatsmittelwerte werden aus Bildern berechnet, die möglicherweise aus dem vorherigen oder nachfolgenden Monat stammen. Bei der Namenskonvention wird der Monat anhand des Zeitpunkts bestimmt, an dem die Julian-Datumsangaben für den Mittelpunkt liegen.
Die monatlichen Mittelwerte für September können beispielsweise aus Bildern generiert worden sein, die im August oder Oktober aufgenommen wurden. Das mittlere julianische Datum zwischen den Bildern fällt jedoch in den September. Die genauen verwendeten Daten sind als Metadatenfelder für jedes Bild enthalten.
