Diese Daten wurden anhand von 4.716.475 Szenen von Landsat 5, 7 und 8 generiert, die zwischen dem 16. März 1984 und dem 31. Dezember 2021 aufgenommen wurden.
Jeder Pixel wurde mithilfe eines Expertensystems einzeln als „Wasser“ oder „Nicht-Wasser“ klassifiziert. Die Ergebnisse wurden für den gesamten Zeitraum in einem monatlichen Verlauf und für den Änderungsnachweis in zwei Epochen (1984–1999, 2000–2021) zusammengefasst.
Diese Sammlung zur jährlichen Saisonabhängigkeitsklassifizierung enthält eine jährliche Klassifizierung der Saisonalität von Wasser basierend auf den im Laufe des Jahres erkannten Häufigkeitswerten.
