All developers actively developing experiences for Google Cardboard should use the open source Cardboard SDKs for iOS, Android NDK, and Unity XR Plugin.
The Daydream View VR headset is no longer available for purchase as of October 15, 2019. As of November 2023, previously supported devices will no longer be able to download and install Google VR Serivces (Android application ID com.google.vr.vrcore) for new users.

To develop for Google VR, you need a supported version of Unity and the Google VR SDK for Unity.

Unity

Install Unity:

Recommended version: LTS release 2017.4 or newer
Minimum version: 5.6

Google VR SDK for Unity

Download the Google VR SDK for Unity to create mobile VR applications for Android or iOS. This Unity package contains the SDK and some demo scenes for you to try.

Sample projects

The Google VR for Unity GitHub repo includes some sample projects demonstrating more complex Daydream and Cardboard applications. You can clone or download the entire Github repository to get them all.
