الدور هو مجموعة من الأذونات التي تتيح للمستخدمين تنفيذ إجراءات معيّنة على موارد Google Drive. لمنح الأذونات للمستخدمين والمجموعات وحسابات الخدمة، عليك تحديد الأدوار. عند تعيين دور، فإنّك تمنح جميع الأذونات التي يتضمّنها الدور.

يمنح الإذن الذي يتضمّن view=published وrole=reader المستخدم reader إذن الوصول إلى العرض المنشور للملف، ولكنّه لا يمنحه إذن الوصول إلى الملف.reader
يمنح الإذن الذي يتضمّن view=metadata وrole=reader خدمة reader إذن الوصول إلى البيانات الوصفية للمجلد، ولكنّه لا يمنح إذن الوصول إلى محتوى المجلد.
