Puedes agregar objetos al mapa para marcar puntos, líneas, áreas o conjuntos de objetos. En la API de Maps JavaScript, esos objetos se denominan superposiciones. Las superposiciones se vinculan a coordenadas de latitud y longitud, por lo que se mueven cuando arrastras, acercas o alejas el mapa.
Tipos de superposiciones
Los mapas fotorrealistas en 3D incluidos en la API de Maps JavaScript admiten varios tipos distintos de superposiciones que puedes agregar de forma programática:
- En el mapa, las líneas se muestran con polilíneas, que se trazan como una secuencia ordenada de puntos conectados por segmentos lineales.
- En el mapa, las áreas de forma arbitraria se muestran con polígonos. Al igual que las polilíneas, los polígonos se trazan como una secuencia ordenada de ubicaciones. Sin embargo, se diferencian de las polilíneas en que definen la región que encierran.
